This is just a bunch of useful tips, ideas, and suggestions. In no particular order.
When cutting the stripboard, use a small hacksaw to cut the board to the right size. Use small file to trim the edges to remove any leftovers from the sawing that might shorten between copper strips.
Use a 3mm (or something about that size) drill to break/interrupt the strips on the stripboard. Do this by spinning the drill between your fingers. Then use a sharp knife to cut off any burring.
If you can't find any diffuse LEDs when you need them, it easy to diffuse a clear LED with some fine sandpaper and grind the glass around the diode, and make a diffuse LED.
